Designed with a young couple’s vision in mind, this HDB in Toa Payoh is the epitome of evergreen luxury, seeking to connect the couple and their family members closer to the outdoors.

We incorporated mainly biophilic design principles into the home’s design concept. Natural light is included as a way to bring the outdoors indoors. To incorporate the rhythm of the day into the home, we excluded walls from the living room to the dining area, creating a bigger space for the family to connect and bond.

Nature’s organic shapes come into play through curves and are reflected through the round coffee tables, curved kitchen islands and wooden design elements on the furniture. Plants are also added to further represent nature’s inspiration in the home.

Stone and wood materials feature heavily in the design, seeking to bring together a harmonic combination of both biophilic design and luxurious aesthetics. This combination is evident in the kitchen top, shelving and cabinets. Strip frames resembling tree branches on the mirrors in the kitchen area reflect the opposite wallpaper design, also inspired by nature’s delicate touch.

Taking all the elements of nature into account, it is a home to better connect with Mother Nature and her beauty.

The organic feel of the natural design offers a quiet luxury that never goes out of style.”
- Sok Hui, Interior Designer
